Raw Recap: *NEW* World Tag Champions! 5 August, 2008
Posted by El Santolly in Raw, WWE, Your Thoughts.add a comment
Moments ago on Monday Night Raw the dream team combination of Batista and John Cena have become the new title holders after Batista picked up the winning pinfall in Raw’s main event of the evening. Congratulations to both men on their huge win tonight!
But no doubt, this adds a whole new dynamic to their highly anticipated singles contest at the upcoming SummerSlam on PPV! How long will this reign really manage to last? It’s another one of those times where we’ll just have to sit back, wait and see!
In other Raw new; it will officially be JBL Vs. CM Punk at SummerSlam with the World Heavyweight title on the line, after JBL picked up the victory with 1 second remaining in a special stipulation handicap match. Will JBL finally be able to beat the man he calls a paper champion when the lights are on bright and the titles on the line?
Another interesting match that Adamle made for Summerslam is a winner take all match featuring Beth and Santino with both the Intercontinental AND Womens title’s on the line!!!
Also, Shawn Michaels is waiting on a doctors response, if he’s allowed to wrestle in even a limited capacity, he will be wrestling at SummerSlam – so good news for all you HBK fans out there.
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts on these huge developments, so leave comments!
El Santolly’s Raw Preview 4 August, 2008

Tonight we have a huge main event as the new General Manager Mike Adamle is forcing John Cena and Batista to team up and take on the World Tag Team Champions; Dibiase & Rhodes!
Cena and Batista have had their run ins of late, but have teamed up as recently as this past weekends Saturday Night’s Main Event. It will be interesting to see what kind of team they make and what teamwork they display, especially against such a well oiled unit as that of our current champs. In singles, there is no doubting that either man can get the job done, hence why they’ve main evented so many PPV’s and won so many titles in their relatively short history. But with SummerSlam on the horizon, may they get on the wrongside of one another and come up short against the Tag champs? We can only wait and see.
Aside from the mammoth match announced, it’s interesting to note that this will be the first show since the official announcement of Mike Adamle as the new GM of Raw. This is the start of the Adamle era on monday nights and should be very interesting in where he takes the show next, especially after last weeks unpredictable rollar coaster ride.
Shawn Michaels will also be on the show tonight. So for all you HBK fans out there, don’t forget! It does however beg the question, what will the maniacal Chris Jericho and his new protege Lance Cade have to say about this appearance? Don’t colour me suprised if it’s far from positive!
Speaking of Jericho, he appears to have his sights set on gold and is clearly on the hunt for the World Heavyweight Championship. Could Adamle annouce Jericho as the new #1 contender for the title to face champion CM Punk? Or will Punk’s challenger at SummerSlam be someone completely different? Hopefully we’ll know after it’s all said and done, tonight on Raw.
This is shaping up to be a must see Raw, especially as anything can happen in the WWE!
Here’s WWE’s official preview of tonights show.

Apologies for the lack of updates this week, technical problems have limited our free time available to update Real World of Wrestling, however these have been retificed.
Tonight we have WWE Monday Night Raw, and below is the WWE.com preview for the show. Also coming this week will be our Super 10 rankings for July, so check back for them later in the week.
Preview: An End to the Mayhem?
July 28, 2008
When Raw convenes in Washington, D.C. on Monday night, Shane McMahon is scheduled to appear. In recent weeks, Shane and his sister, Executive Vice President Stephanie McMahon have implored the WWE Universe to maintain composure on the brand, which has recently been overrun with civil unrest. They’ve also requested that our fans allow their injured father, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, the privacy he desires. Could Shane be coming to Raw to name a new General Manager?
Last Monday night, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was battling Batista in a title match when all hell broke loose. The aftermath of the no-contest match saw John Cena rush the ring to tangle with longtime foe JBL, who had charged the ring moments earlier. During his tussle with JBL, Cena inadvertently leveled Batista with a right arm.
Accident or not, the already frustrated Animal was fit to be tied. He came up swinging and the two powerhouses traded blows to end the broadcast. The confrontation between Cena and Batista begs the question, how will the next meeting go between these two?
In no less disturbing Raw action, Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix shared what can best be described as the weirdest love/hate moment Raw has seen in ages.
As The Glamazon looked on from ringside, Marella lost a match to returning Superstar D-Lo Brown. After the match, Phoenix stepped into the ring and scuffled with the spicy Italian. As the two traded waist-lock holds, they suddenly, inexplicably … kissed.
Just as quickly, they pulled back, seemingly afraid of any amorous feelings their lip lock may have evoked. Hmmm. What might have sparked these feelings of amore? And how might a relationship between these two develop, if at all?
Finally, announcers Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler touched on rumors last Monday that, in the absence of a General Manager, Shane and Stephanie McMahon are searching for a new Raw GM. Will our fans soon see a new face as Raw GM? If so, who will take the reins?

Monday Night Raw went off the air with another huge shock that rivals that of McMahon from the night of the draft. Following a DQ in the 6-man main event of the evening, John Bradshaw Layfeild ran to the back with John Cena hot on his heels throughout the backstage area. Possibly foreshadowing what may have happened this Sunday, Cena followed JBL out into the parking lot but was brutally attacked from behind with a foreign object. JBL proceeded to prop Cena up on a near by car, then got behind the wheel of another vehicle and apparently crashed into the former champ.
Following the event WWE.com scooped that Cena managed to narrowly escape the heinous actions of the Texan-turned-New Yorker with nothing but being slightly grazed. It has been reported that the match is still on for the Great American Bash. No doubt, it will be a brutal match up not to be missed, with Cena wanting to return the favour from last night. As an early prediction, I can see Cena being a man possessed at the Bash and it will be a good bet to say he’ll come out on top.
Monday Night Raw couldn’t have gone any less to plan for what Stephanie and Shane McMahon were hoping for at the top of the programme, the show was as hectic as it gets, with a true sense of anarchy rules. It should be interesting where corporate go with the Raw brand after last nights craziness.
As always, we here at RWW love to read your thoughts, so feel free to comment!

Yes! That’s correct! Just moments ago CM Punk did the unthinkable and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase/contract for an opportunity against the ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ Edge to bring back the World Heavyweight title to Raw, following a beat down of Edge by Batista on what Edge was describing as his last Raw appearance.
We here at RWW are extremely happy for Punk and want to be among the first to congratulate him on his huge win on Monday Night Raw!
UPDATE: We at Real World of Wrestling want to know what YOU think about CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Vote after the jump. (Voting closed)
NoC Notes; Super 10 News! 30 June, 2008

So, just minutes ago WWE’s final PPV of the month, Night of Champions, just came to a close. With a shock turn on his partner by Cody Rhodes, the shock of both top titles staying on SmackDown! and the suprise Intercontinental title match which saw Kofi Kingston win his first World Wrestling Entertainment belt – it was a very strong PPV with a lot to write home about, but I’ll keep it super short and sweet here.
On the prediction side of things, all but my inkling were correct. Thus, for the first time round, I (El Santolly) win on prediction notes getting all mine correct. IceChris wont be happy with that one, so better luck next time.
As that was the last PPV of the month and we’ve past the 4 Raw’s, the Super 10 rankings will be posted by IceChris. So watch out for those and find out truely who is the best in wrestling today! Tell your friends!!
Thanks for reading and take care.
EDIT:
As not to clutter, here’s what IceChris has to say on the Super 10:
Now that Night of Champions is over, its time for Real World of Wrestling to debut their inaugural Super 10 rankings for June 2008. The full details regarding Super 10 are available via the tab at the top of the site. This months rankings are also available via the same link, or after the jump.
